The Mission
The mission of the Welcome Center is to present information to alumni, students and other visitors about the University’s rich heritage and contributions to society through visual displays as well as print and electronic media.

The Vision
The Welcome Center will show how Illinois has transformed and enriched lives for the last 150 years through tradition and innovation. It will serve as a place for visitors to learn, connect, and share experiences old and new. The Center will be both informative and enjoyable, serving to educate and entertain diverse audiences.

The Visitor Experience
Like the open arms of the iconic Alma Mater, the Welcome Center will invite all visitors to campus. Amenities will include museum-quality exhibits, a café, campus tours, and spaces to meet, study and hold events. Art installations will beautify the space, while interactive electronic media will further engage visitors. Exhibits will explore all things Illini—from student life past and present to the groundbreaking accomplishments of our alumni—and incorporate artifacts from campus departments, museums and individual donors.
