September 23 Depart Gateway City

AHI FlexAir passengers depart for Paris, France. Please check your luggage from your gateway city to your arrival city. Your claim checks should have the following airport code: CDG.

If you have purchased only the Land Program, please book flights that arrive on the first day of the Land Program Program. The Land Program Program dates appear at the top of your Reservation Confirmation.

September 24 Paris, France

Arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Proceed through immigration to the baggage claim area and retrieve your luggage. After completing customs, AHI FlexAir passengers traveling on flights that qualify for the group arrival transfer and Land Program passengers who have purchased seats on the group transfer should exit the baggage claim area and proceed to the designated meeting spot, where an AHI Travel representative will meet them. The meeting location will be provided with your final documents.

Transfer to the Hotel l’Echiquier Opéra Paris. Please note if you arrive before check-in time, your room may not be immediately available.

Discovery: Welcome to Paris. Get to know the neighborhood around your hotel in the 10th Arrondissement and learn how to use the famous Métro subway system.

Tonight, get to know your fellow travelers at a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

September 25 Paris, France

Enrichment: The History of Paris. From its roots to today, discover the pivotal events and people that have shaped the city.

Discovery: Le Marais. Stroll through Le Marais’ narrow streets, built in the Middle Ages when aristocrats transformed swampy farmland into an elegant neighborhood. Today, Le Marais remains popular with chic boutiques and hot restaurants.

Free Time: Enjoy some time at leisure to discover the city. You may wish to stay in Le Marais, where the narrow lanes give you an idea of what the area looked like during the Middle Ages. Browse through art galleries and stylish boutiques or stroll through Place des Vosges, Paris’ first square.

Discovery: Paris by Boat. Cruise the Seine River for a different perspective of Paris. See Notre Dame Cathedral, Île St. Louis, the Louvre Museum and the French Institute. End your cruise near the Musée d’Orsay.

September 26 Paris, France

Discovery: Flavors of France. Step into the world of French gastronomy. With an expert leading the way, discover several of the city’s best artisan-made foods.

Free Time: The rest of the day is at leisure. The city is filled with historic landmarks, museums, world-class shopping and more! Don’t miss the opportunity to walk down the Champs Élysées, one of the most recognizable boulevards in the world, to the Arc d’Triomphe, or go to the top of the Eiffel Tower for the best view of the city.

September 27 Dijon, France

Discovery: Dijon. Take the high-speed train to this Roman city, which continues to blossom with each passing age. Stroll through the Old Town, known for its grand homes. See the archaeology museum inside an ancient monastery. Slow down for lunch at Hôtel Malateste, a historic mansion, and enjoy a tour of this beautiful home.

Free Time: There is time to stroll through Dijon, capital of the Burgundy region, at your leisure before returning to Paris. Visit one of the museums or even step into a wine shop to buy a bottle of one of the famous wines of the region to enjoy some evening during your trip or even to bring home. Of course, Dijon is famous for its mustard, and you can find many shops selling this famous condiment.

September 28 Paris, France

Enrichment: Treasures of the Louvre. Learn about the collections at the Louvre, Paris’ most famous museum. This is a good overview of the museum, helping you to tailor your visit to your interests.

Free Time: Visit the Louvre at your leisure with your Museum Pass. The museum has several restaurants, so you may take a break for lunch and then continue to explore the galleries. When you are done, head out into the city. You may wish to visit the Latin Quarter, so named because this has been the intellectual hub of Paris for centuries. The Sorbonne, Paris’ famous university is nearby, and the streets are lined with bookstores, cafés and more. Visit the Luxembourg Gardens, a classic French garden, or the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the oldest church in the city. If you choose, you may join the Elective Activity being offered today.

Elective Activity: Versailles. Visit Versailles to see France’s grandest palace on a guided tour. Versailles was France’s political capital and seat of the royal court from 1682-1789. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in the famous Hall of Mirrors. Available at an additional cost.

September 29 Paris, France

Enrichment: Treasures of the d’Orsay. Enjoy an overview of the museum, which has an impressive impressionist collection.

Free Time: The day is at leisure to explore Paris on your own. You may wish to visit the d’Orsay. The museum also has a choice of restaurants, so you can enjoy lunch here and continue admiring the art afterward.

September 30 Paris, France

Discovery: Garnier Opéra House. Step into the Garnier Opéra House, which inspired “The Phantom of the Opera.” See the ceiling painted by Chagall, Edgar Degas’ paintings and more.

Free Time: Enjoy a final free afternoon in Paris. Step into one of its world-famous department stores, pay a visit to your favorite café or take a walk through the Tuileries gardens.

Tonight gather for a Welcome Reception and Dinner with your fellow travelers.

October 1 Depart for Gateway City

After breakfast, AHI FlexAir passengers traveling on flights that qualify for a group transfer and Land Program passengers who have purchased seats on the group transfer depart for Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for your return flights home. Your Travel Director will provide the details.
