The Big Picture: Global Talent

Traditions—both old and new, from near and far—define every celebration. Homecoming 2019 saw the inauguration of the University’s first Global Talent Show, highlighting music, dance and performances from diverse cultures. The show was held at the U of I’s William R. and Clarice V. Spurlock Museum of World Cultures, itself a regional center for cultural and archaeological collections from centuries of history and across the globe. Chinese guzheng music, traditional dances and good old-fashioned yo-yo tricks created an eclectic entertainment mix.
