Barry Houser and the Marching Illini
As director of the Marching Illini, Barry Houser marches his 360-member band to his inner drummer and at events nationwide, such as New York City’s 2015 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Since assuming his post in 2011, Houser has been credited with re-energizing band performances, an achievement that has not gone unnoticed by rivals. In April 2015, Houser gave fans and musicians a start when Ohio State University came calling. Houser declined, thankfully.
