Peace Memorial at Lincoln Hall

Historic renovations to Lincoln Hall, reopened 100 years to the day of its 1913 dedication, have included reclamation and restoration of twin courtyards at the building’s center. One is the site of Peace Memorial, commissioned in 1968 by the Classes of 1918 and 1919, witnesses to World War I who dedicated the space to UI students lost in all wars. The setting is ideal for a moment or two of contemplation—perhaps with coffee from a new café nestled between the two courtyards.
