Boneyard Creek

Once it flooded Campustown in such wanton exuberance that students would canoe along Green Street as water washed through bars, storefronts and classroom buildings. Now—thanks to a $22 million detention project begun by the city of Champaign and the University in 2008—the Boneyard wends somewhat more docilely and far more beautifully around and through campus, including a lovely landscaped stretch along the Bardeen Quad.
