“I”s on the World: Island Idyll

Oh, the places we go … University of Illinois alumni are globetrotters who travel near and far, but never forget their Alma Mater!

The cool blue of the Aegean Sea makes an alluring backdrop for the Hansen family, pictured here in Little Venice on Mykonos, the Greek “island of the winds.” From Alevkantra Beach, Linda Chalupnik Hansen, MEDIA ’92, Brian Hansen, BUS ’93, and their daughters, Alli, an Illinois freshman, and Addie went shopping, then drove ATVs to the island’s famed Paradise Beach. Mykonos was one of several ports of call for the family last summer during a Mediterranean cruise that also took them to Rome, Athens, the Greek island of Santorini and the seaside town of Katacolon in Greece near the site of the first Olympic Games. The Hansens returned from their idyll in time for Alli to resume her advertising studies at Illinois.
