Illini Replay: Kara Kapernekas

Kara Kapernekas, ’05 ACES, was a two-time All-Big-Ten performer (2003, 2005) and team captain (2004-05) for the Fighting Illini women’s gymnastics team. More than a decade after the conclusion of her standout career in Orange & Blue, Kapernekas’ all-time best scores on balance beam (9.925) and floor exercise (9.95) still rank as the second-best marks in school history.
