100-year-old Marching Illini alumnus honored at Harding Band Building
On Monday, October 2, the Marching Illini honored Richard “Dick” Cogdal, ’39 bus, ms’40 bus, 100-year-old MI alumnus. Mr. Cogdal played in the Illinois band under director A. Austin Harding from 1935-1940. Director Barry Houser, mmus ’09, presented Cogdal with a traditional Illinois band cape and a bass drum head signed by the drum line. It was an absolute honor to have Mr. Cogdal visit and speak at the Harding Building.
