Official Rules 2017 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Photo Contest

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST.

Eligibility: This contest (the “Contest”) is open only to legal residents of the United States. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Employees of the UI Alumni Association staff and family are ineligible to receive any prizes awarded. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this Contest.

Sponsor and Administrator:
The Sponsor and Administrator of this Contest is the University of Illinois Alumni Association, located at 601 S. Lincoln Ave, Urbana, IL 61801. As the Sponsor of this Contest, the UI Alumni Association is responsible for the marketing of the Contest and the dispensation of the Contest prizes. As the Administrator of this Contest, the UI Alumni Association is responsible for retaining submitted images (submitted via social media). This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

How to Enter: The Contest consists of one (1) prize, entered by submitting a photo via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #illinoismarathon and tagging Illinois Alumni (@UIAA, @IllinoisAlumni or @illinois_alumni). Photos must be received between the (“Contest Period”). Eligible entrants submitting a photo during the Contest Period, will be entered into a random drawing. An individual can only enter the Contest one time by submitting an eligible photo. The UI Alumni Association is not responsible for any failed photo submissions.

Timing: The Contest Period begins on April 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) and ends April 23, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. CDT (“Contest Period”).

Selection of Potential Winner: One (1) winner will be selected by a random drawing.

Verification of Potential Winner: To win, the potential winner must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules. A potential winner will be notified by email or social media (“Notification”) within approximately three (3) business days following selection of the winner. In order to claim a prize, the potential winner must respond to the Notification within 72 hours using the method indicated in the Notification, and will be required to sign and return to the UI Alumni Association one or more documents including an affidavit of eligibility, and releases for liability and publicity (“Affirmation”) which must be postmarked within seven (7) days of Notification. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to sign and return the Affirmation within the specified time period, or otherwise to cooperate with the UI Alumni Association in providing needed information for tax reporting or other requirements, the potential winner will be disqualified forfeit the prize. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the UI Alumni Association may award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from the remaining seven (7) eligible entries, or may at its sole discretion elect not to award the prize.

Prizes: One (1) winner will be selected for the one (1 ) prize administered during the Contest Period. The following prize is to be awarded: one (1) $100 Amazon gift card. Prizes will be sent at by United State Postal Service or by a private mail carrier at the UI Alumni Association’s cost to the address provided by the winner in the Affirmation, but will not be shipped to addresses outside of the United States. Prizes will be shipped within two weeks after the winner has returned the Affirmation to the UI Alumni Association.

Disclaimer and Limitations of Liability: The UI Alumni Association makes no warranties with regard to any prize. No cash or other substitution is permitted, except as provided herein at the UI Alumni Association’s sole discretion. Prizes are nontransferable, unless otherwise specifically approved by the UI Alumni Association in writing. The UI Alumni Association reserves the right to substitute any listed prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Except as specifically included in the prize description, the winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes, fees and surcharges associated with prize receipt and/or use. The UI Alumni Association is responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind whether mechanical, human or electronic. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by the UI Alumni Association. The UI Alumni Association reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the UI Alumni Association’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by the UI Alumni Association in its sole discretion. In such event, the UI Alumni Association reserves the right to award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The UI Alumni Association reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the UI Alumni Association’s Illinois Alumni website, systems or servers, tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, acting in violation of these Rules or state or federal law, or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the UI Alumni Association reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The UI Alumni Association’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. All entrants release the UI Alumni Association and each of these entities’ respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, partners, equity holders, agents, employees, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability with respect to, or in any way arising from this Contest and/or acceptance or use of the prizes, including liability for personal injury, damages, death or monetary loss. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest ; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, traffic congestion or disconnections in phone or internet lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

Publicity: If permitted by law, each winner will be required to sign, as part of the Affirmation, a release allowing the UI Alumni Association to use his or her name, photograph, likeness, voice, prize information, and biographical information for publicity and Contest purposes without further compensation.
