How do you define Illini pride?

For Illinois Athletics Director Josh Whitman, ’01 BUS, JD ’08 LAW, Illini pride is defined in the way beloved former Classics Professor Richard Scanlan ended each fall class with students yelling out I-L-L-I-N-I and him channeling the Greek god Apollo to predict a football victory, regardless of the opponent. “His willingness to remain confident, optimistic and passionate made all the difference,” Whitman says.

For you, it may mean wearing your Illini colors, supporting University programs or attending Illinois sporting events.

As Whitman says in this inspirational video, “We need the fire to spread across the campus and through the Illini nation! We need you now! We need you to help us get to the Rose Bowl!”
