Built in 1911 and expanded in 1929, Lincoln Hall underwent major restoration and renovation from 2009-12, earning it Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The four-story structure’s facade includes 30 terra cotta panels containing quotes, portraits and scenes from Abraham Lincoln’s life and times. Inside, a beloved bronze bust of its namesake overlooks the marble foyer, with its vaulted ceiling and copper medallions. In 2015, the building received the Citation of Merit from the American Institute of Architects Illinois’ Honor Awards program in the Frank Lloyd Wright category.
